Laura Esbensen is a San Diego based artist, working with drawn and painted mixed media techniques. She combines cross hatched ink drawings with explorative color blocking and abstract application, juxtaposing mechanical and organic imagery for a high contrast effect. Esbensen deals primarily with themes of the psychedelic, playful and bizarre, often with human and animal motifs in her work. She has Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Arts from the University of California, San Diego, and intends to pursue a Masters in Fine Arts.
